About my work

 I am fascinated by the process of using fire, stakes, hammers, and other tools to transform metal from flat sheet and granules to objects for ornament, ritual, and daily use. With every course of heat and hammering or each carefully formed wire, I am connected to a rich ancient history and a global community of artisans. The fire is primal, the process transcendent. Additionally, I love the union of form and color. I approach each project with curiosity, a delight in exploration, gratitude for the magical opportunity to explore, a sense of kinship, and joy in being.
